It's time to be a princess!

This past weekend our family journied down to New Orleans for a very special occasion. Our YaYa and Nanu belong to the Olympians. The Olympians is a Men's group that YaYa's family has belonged for a very long time. Tgey host a Mardu Gras ball each year and at that time young women on the family are given the honor if being in the Kings court. YaYa was a maid, aunt Gelle was a maid, and this year Malia was given the honor to be a princess.
It was such a great day, preparing for the ball. We discussed etiquette and proper behavior in a royal court. At the rehearsal she made sure to make eye contact and greet many new people. She met cousins her age that were also princesses. We went and got here hair done in a princess "up- do". And then arrived early and got to get dressed with the queen.
She did a beautiful job processing very gracefully, and curtsying to welcome her majesty.
What an honor and blessing to see my little princess in her royal court! We are so proud of you Malia! And so blessed to carry on this tradition!
Here are some pictures as we prepared for the ball... More of the ball to come...
