One mom, five children, in the rain, at a grocery store, at snack time....never again...
The Brown Family Circus made their debute today at the local Kroger...
Ring #1 The Clown Car: the boys decided to cram into the little green car...good idea for containing kids...but the clown car was too crowded...soooo...fists were flying...and then Jeremah was flying out of the car just in time for momma clown to run him over...thankfully he was so focused on squeezing back into the car with crazy brother he found the incident funny...the spectators at the store looked on as if we were an episode of Ripleys Believe it or not,...
Ring#2 The jugglers...the girls could not be satisfied with empty hands...so as they wondered from item to item, touching everything as if they had never seen real food before...they almost took down an entire shelf of wine...yes we were in the wine isle, and unfortunately were too early for happy hour...
Ring#3 The Lion Tamer: Mamma Bear attempts to tame the wild beasts without drawing too much attention to the crew...( duh, 5 kids in a grocery...yes they are all mine, yes there are a lot, yes my hands are full...) don't notice that we were blocking traffic so as she patiently...called her little cubs to focus...a small entourage of people focused in on the not so cute chaos...and patiently waited for the spectacle to clear...
So we wrapped up the show and made it to the car in one piece...leaving me with one question to ponder...what was I thinking? And missing the drive through daiquiri bars on NOLA, they must have been created for situations such as these...
But as I decompressed on the way home, with a screaming infant ( who thankfully held in his roar til the car) I was given the gift of a good laugh as Malia sang her own rendition of M.C. hammer's You Can't Touch This...( do do do do, do do, do do...stop crying.....) to Tobias...and I was reminded that despite the 3 ring Circus...the beauty is still there in the chaos...
But next time I will leave some of it at home...
Cute story!
